چکیده

Abstract Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) ultrafiltration (UF) membrane was prepared by vapor and non-solvent-induced phase separation (VNIPS) process, the relationships between preparation conditions, behaviors structures were discussed. The diagram generated cloud point titration, effects of environmental relative humidity, air exposure time casting solution temperature on structure performance resulted investigated. addition polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) additives to made system thermodynamically unstable led turbidity curve shift toward solvent/non-solvent axis. experimental results showed that both average pore size porosity increased with higher humidity. When humidity from 35 85%, mean 70 nm. effect related environment. In addition, increase in temperature, large pores appeared sub-layer membrane, which gradually widened distribution, leading decrease tensile strength. condition optimized as solution, fabrication process potential for scaling-up production PVDF UF VNIPS technique.

Preparation and characterization of polyethylene/ glass fiber composite membrane prepared via thermally induced phase separation method

Grinded glass fiber (GGF) embedded high density polyethylene (HDPE) membranes were prepared via thermally induced phase separation method. FESEM images showed that all the membranes had leafy structure, indicating a solid-liquid mechanism during phase separation. The results of EDX and TGA analyses confirmed that the fibers were dispersed in the HDPE matrix uniformly. Normalized water flux of t...

Silk fibroin gelation via non-solvent induced phase separation.

Tissue engineering benefits from novel materials with precisely tunable physical, chemical and mechanical properties over a broad range. Here we report a practical approach to prepare Bombyx mori silk fibroin hydrogels using the principle of non-solvent induced phase separation (NIPS). A combination of reconstituted silk fibroin (RSF) and methanol (non-solvent), with a final concentration of 2....

Study on the fouling behavior of HDPE/PE-g-MA/EVA blend membrane fabricated via thermally induced phase separation method

In this study, neat HDPE and HDPE/PE-g-MA/EVA blend membranes were fabricated via thermally induced phase separation (TIPS) method and their fouling behaviors were examined using filtration of BSA protein. Membranes were characterized using FESEM, AFM, ATR-FTIR analyses and porosity measurement. Fouling behavior of membranes was analyzed using the resistance-in-series (RIS), classic and combine...

Preparation and Characterization of Hydrophilically Modified PVDF Membranes by a Novel Nonsolvent Thermally Induced Phase Separation Method

In this study, a nonsolvent thermally-induced phase separation (NTIPS) method was first proposed to fabricate hydrophilically-modified poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) membranes to overcome the drawbacks of conventional thermally-induced phase separation (TIPS) and nonsolvent-induced phase separation (NIPS) methods. Hydrophilically-modified PVDF membranes were successfully prepared by blending ...
